Once upon a time, world-renowned violinist Joshua Bell took his Stradivarius into the D.C. subway and played as an anonymous "busker" for the bustling commuters. Of the thousands who passed, only a few stopped to listen! Bell's experience was imaginatively captured in the multi-award-winning children's book The Man with the Violin--and now he joins us alongside conductor Michael Stern for a very special concert featuring a Canada's National Arts Centre and Kennedy Center co-commissioned work inspired by the tale.
Normal’s mandate was to bring the magnificent illustrations from the book to life, creating visual accompaniment for the performance. The studio continues to pursue collaborations with prestigious symphony orchestras, including the National Arts Centre Orchestra and the Orchestre Symphonique de Montréal (OSM).
