Sébastien’s goal is to lead Normal Studio in privileged creative partnerships with its clients, thus sustaining long-term and innovative collaborations. In this mindset, he restructured the studio by introducing department heads in the different branches of the company. He also established new communication strategies and fostered relationships in the global market.
Before rising through the ranks to a leadership position in 2017, Sébastien was the studio’s Multimedia Environment Designer for over 5 years. During this time, he designed complex video playback systems for the multimedia walking tour Cité Mémoire. This involved planning the installation and calibration of over 80 projectors for 25 multimedia scenes. He managed the logistics of covering a surface of 26m x 49m—the equivalent of 5 IMAX screens, with 40 projectors for the arena tour Toruk, by Cirque du Soleil. Naturally gifted with technical equipment, Sébastien conceives systems that allow him to oversee major undertakings such as Le Moulin à Images by Robert Lepage (Ex Machina) and The Vancouver Olympic Games ceremonies.
His great communication skills, wit and masterful knowledge of multimedia make Sébastien an inspiring leader who steers the studio’s growth by motivating the team to innovate constantly and push forward in their areas of expertise. Sébastien graduated with a collegial degree in Computer-Assisted Sound Design and has a certificate in leadership from L’Institut de leadership. He also teaches a yearly workshop about video projection at John Abbott College.
