From the monumental scenography of Montréal Symphonique celebrating the city’s 375th anniversary to the dreamlike staging of the interactive installation Au bord du lac tranquille at the Quartier des Spectacles in Montreal, Philippe applies the same ingenuity and curiosity to create a sense of wonder and the extraordinary in the spectator. Today, as the Creative Director at Normal Studio, he leads large-scale projects masterfully utilizing all the multimedia tools at his disposal. His remarkable work on the storyteller Fred Pellerin’s pentalogy with the Montreal Symphony Orchestra blends classical repertoire with surprising digital signatures.
With Ubisoft Montreal and TRIBU, he crafted the impressive scenography for the SIX INVITATIONAL 2019 eSports event at Place Bell. He also oversees visual content production for over a hundred productions, most recently for the theater festival in Riyadh and for the monumental projection journey Cité Mémoire in La Malbaie. Before co-founding Normal Studio in 2009 with Mathieu-St-Arnaud, Philippe spent over 5 years as the head of video at Solotech for stadium tours of André Rieu, Alicia Keys, and Akon, as well as for the Vancouver Winter Olympics.
His expertise has been recognized with numerous nominations for the Gémeaux Awards, the Artis Awards, and the NUMIX Awards. Philippe also served as the director of the technology committee at HUB Montreal, the international market for creative industries.
